StreetLights is Girvan Youth Trust's Detached Youth Work Project which operates four evenings per week.
The team of experienced Detached Youth Workers engage and provide support, information and advice to local young people who may not participate in other youth work services/agencies.
Under StreetLights the team work in partnership with Police Scotland and Community Safety to deliver targeted Anti-Social Behaviour Action Plans as well as in school sessions tailored to those young people who are identified as currently or potentially being involved in crime, anti-social behaviour or youth disorder in the community.

Post COVID-19 Pandemic, StreetLights has increased their delivery to include short term, intervention work delivered in partnership with Girvan Academy. This piece of work compliments our street based engagement as it allows the project youth workers to work more in depth with young people, they engage with, to do some more intensive work around anti-social behaviour, their community and the justice system.

StreetLights has also become known as one of the 'go to' Detached Youth Work Project for advice, guidance and support to other organisations hoping to replicate using a similar model.

StreetLights is delivered by Lucy O'Donnell (Project Co-ordinator), Kenny Sloan (Youth Worker) and Lauren McEwan (Youth Worker).
