Music on the Prom
Music on the Prom is a twelve week live music event, organised and run by a team of Girvan Youth Trust Volunteers, as part of our wider Summer Programme. Each week see's a live act, whether they be tribute, covers or other, perform a one hour set on The Prom!
'Beautiful Sundays' on Girvan Promenade have become well known throughout Ayrshire - and even as far afield as Lanarkshire and Dumfries & Galloway!
Girvan Boating Pond
In partnership with South Ayrshire Council, we continue to operate Girvan Boating Pond & Putting Green over the Summer Season from April until September annually.
This see's us employ up to 25 local young people, equip them with First Aid and Lifesaving qualifications in order to competently and successfully operate the area.
Following our 2022 season, we saw a 100% success rate for those young people employed going on to a Positive Destination whether this be Further Education, Training and/or Employment.
We are in the process of creating a model where the Boating Pond becomes more self sustainable whilst generating unrestricted income for the organisation whilst enhancing the local tourism offering.
Charity Shop
Girvan Youth Trust have their own Charity Shop, run by a team of volunteers, which allows us to generate some unrestricted income for the charity.
Community Events Team
GYT Community Events Team formed during lockdown to start fundraising and organising free community events held in Z1 Youth Bar. We work closely with other local groups to coordinate local events for the the Girvan community such as Halloween and Christmas Street Party.
We are not funded so rely upon self fundraising events such as our cash bingo held on the last Sunday of each month.
