Our Staff
Girvan Youth Trust have an experienced Staff Team who deliver our wide range of Youth Work Projects on a weekly basis.

Project Co-ordinator
Gail's role involves responsibilities for all things Z1 Youth Bar related - she is our Halloween Extraordinaire and leads our Community Events Team She is also part of the Management Team.
Lucy manages all areas of our Youth Work Programme, Detached Youth Work and Work with Schools Programme. She is also part of the Management Team and is one of our Designated Child Protection Officers alongside Amy.
Amy Bissett
Project Co-ordinator
Amy is part of the Management Team and has responsibilities for Project Search as well as looking at our financial sustainability.
Amy is also be a Designated Child Protection Officer alongside Lucy.
Erin Murdoch
Project Supervisor
Erin is responsible for the day to day running of the Life's A Journey Project. She works alongside the Management Team to ensure the efficient delivery of our Volunteer Programme as well as developing opportunities for both youth and adult volunteers.
Claire Stewart
DFN Project Search Job Coach
Claire is the dedicated Job Coach who delivers our DFN Project Search Programme across South Ayrshire. Her role involves supporting a small group of interns to develop their employability skills and support them into employment.
Lauren Gourlay
Youth Worker
Lauren holds a dual role with Girvan Youth Trust as a Youth Worker with both Hand in Hand and StreetLights.
Lauren leads on Hand in Hand by planning and delivering Age Appropriate Youth Clubs, One to One's and After School Club.
With StreetLights, Lauren delivers Detached Youth Work, supporting young people out with the youth club setting and is also taking the lead on our new positive masculinity project which is held both in school and in our facility.
Michelle Scobie
Volunteer Development Worker
Michelle is the Volunteer Development Worker with our Life's A Journey Project. Her role involves supporting young and adult volunteers in our Charity Shop, Z1 Youth Bar and other volunteering opportunities in our town. She is also half of our Community Events Team.
Kenny is part of the StreetLights Team delivering Detached Youth Work and the Friday Night Football Diversionary Programme in partnership with Active Girvan. He also is involved in a number of other youth work provision including Ballantrae Youth Club, Lunch Sessions and Seniors.

Admin Assistant
Sarah is our recently appointed Admin Assistant and started with GYT in January 2026.
Sarah will be supporting the Manangement Team with all the behind the scenes paperwork in order to keep GYT running day to day.

Brian is part of our Casual Youth Work Team. He supports delivery of a variety of our Youth Work Programmes.

Emma is part of our Casual Youth Work Team and supports in the delivery of our Saturday Drop In's, Ballantrae & Dailly Youth Clubs, Work with Schools and Holiday Programmes.
Heather McCafferty
Youth Worker
Heather is part of our Casual Youth Work Team, however, she also holds Lead Youth Worker responsibilities also.
Heather leads on Junior Youthie and also supports the delivery of many areas of our Youth Work Programme. She is also one of our longest serving youth workers.

Kerry is part of our Casual Youth Work Team, however, she also holds Lead Youth Worker responsibilities also.
Kerry leads on Junior Youthie and the development of Ballantrae Youth Club as well as supporting the delivery of many areas of our Youth Work Programme.

Naomi is part of our Casual Youth Work Team and supports in the delivery of Hand in Hand and Dailly Youth Club.
Iona Barrie

Iona is part of our Casual Youth Work Team and supports the delivery of our Youth Work Programme including MidWeek Munch and Holiday Programmes.

Sarahjane is part of our Casual Youth Work Team and supports in the delivery of our Hand in Hand and Holiday Programmes.
Sarahjane is also currently leading on the development of Dailly Youth Club.
